Here is a little snippet of "Stuck in Limbo" recorded live at Heritage Days on Mon. Aug. 1. I thought you may enjoy it so have added it to the video's found on the first page. Possibly one of many to come, if you feel like helping film some action come out to an event you know I'm playing at. If I'm in a good mood I may ask you to send it to me. Or I may give you hell for following me around with a camera, it all depends on how the tides are treating me at the time. It's a long story of a musicians life. Either way enjoy!!

Speaking of live events, how about The Edmonton Fringe Festival? I am planning on buying a permit here this week. The rules have changed some so I cannot guarantee a time or place I will be playing, but I'll be there off and on over the week and surely something there will catch your eye, you might as well come out. See you then!!

July 22, 2010

Not a lot has changed recently. All my goals are still in place, now one foot in front of the other. I have been trying to take it easy before the storm that is coming. August has been a productive month in the past. Perhaps you will see me under the bridge at Capital Ex, perhaps at the Fringe. At the moment I am getting some equipment repairs and fighting albeit unsuccessfully to do something online other than beat my head against the keyboard like this:

Yes I have decided I don't like computers or those who call themselves experts at them. Black hats seem to gravitate to me. I tell them where to go. Repeat. It's kind of a game, just not one I like playing.

Back to music now (the intention of what I had planned for my life.) I have applied to a few shows, I would really like to do something other than busking but I try to keep playing for the people. Right now is two weeks without a real jam and I can feel it. I gotta play.

Hope the next time I do you come out. Keep you posted.

May 30, 2010

I reviewed my past few blog's and realized I have been too negative lately. This is not my style. Despite the venom I have been spewing forth the last year or so, I still intend to be a positive influence on all of my listeners, family, friends, and also peers.

We have all been stuck in a rut from time to time.

And so often it is not difficult for us caught up in the chaos in our lives that we can forget our actions also have consequences on others. Yes, our lives are all interchanged and it is easy to lose control.

I have allowed the particulars of my business to defeat the purpose of me wanting to be in the music business in the first place: To make good music. And to enjoy myself in the process. When you are happier, more people will want to be around you. And that sounds like a good time. I'll play that show; and it will be more rewarding to all of us.

I have backed off some from the subway's, but I still have my permit so will still be there from time to time. I am still uncertain on the outcome of court, the next date is Friday June 4th. There is also a more important date, postponed until Oct. the 4th. The outcome of these days will determine my presence along Whyte Ave. and as a member of society on a whole. One way or another I do intend on continuing to play, but my desire as street performer has changed in the past year. Open jam, I'm also thinking will happen when the vibe is right. I have been flying solo for far too long now. I am still always open for more students, and the first lesson is still free. As for session work, I have taken a few inquiries, but nothing too serious has developed. I am hoping to start recording more of my solo stuff again soon. I have much I wish to state musically, but for those who have been following for a while you know I've felt that way for some time. Come follow me on Twitter and see what the fuss is all about. I'm a little guilty of not practicing drums & bass in the last year or two, but it's like riding a bike, once you get going again the muscles come back.

The last while I got caught up in life, lost hope, lost focus, and fell off the wagon. Then I saw the light again. Actually I was blinded by it for far too long. I wrote the song Seeing LIGHTS about that. It's about having someone you love so much they become more important to you than anything. So much in fact, that the effect they have on you becomes a negative one. You have to let go of that which you love, else it will consume you. When things are meant to be, they will happen. The test is to remain true to who you are during this process. If you succeed, then love can prevail. Then everyone will be happy, or at least they should be.

I think.

Love to you all.

That was my intention from the beginning.

Sorry folks, no real shows. The PTB's are trying to put me in my place. I choose not to help them do so. You want to see me, you know where to reach me!! Wish me luck in court. The fun is really beginning. Love to all those who seek it. The rest have chosen the path they will die on. God bless!!

May 11, 2010

Sorry folks, The Works Arts & Design Festival has chosen to pass on RockSolidMusic. They mentioned their may be a chance of a cancellation. Their loss. And all of yours, sorry folks. Stay tuned!!!

May 4, 2010

Open jam has been less of a success than planned so far, although I have not put in the effort I should. If you want to jam let me know, still aiming for that killer rock band.

RSM has been trying to get into some larger shows this summer. I have auditioned for the Heart of the City Festival, and applied to play The Works. As of yet I don't know if I have been accepted, but I was received well by both groups of administration. You should put both those dates on your calendar any way, I am sure the shows will be good regardless of my presence on the bill.

The Heart of the City Festival - Giovanni Caboto Park (95st. & 109 ave.) - June 5 & June 6, 2010.

The Works Art & Design Festival - Sir Winston Churchill Square (100 st. & 102 ave.) - June 25 - July 7, 2010.

As for coming site updates and shows, you will need to stay tuned to my Twitter posts. I have two very important dates in court coming between this month and next which could be life altering. For more details, stay tuned to Twitter. I've been bitching about it for months.

Wish me luck!!

I love you guys. Everything I do is for you!!

Peace my friends.

The time has come for Dave to start playing open mic around Edmonton. Time and place will vary. Are you interested in playing with Dave? Send an email with your interests and availability. The goal is to have a rocking band by summer. There are a few different places he is hoping will be receptive. Once he has come to like a location the blog will updated and possibly the profile and gig calander on Sonicbids. RockSolidMusic has been unplugged for long enough, it is time to turn up the juice.

Have you taken a liking to Live in the Tunnel '09 yet? Dave is tossing the idea of hitting the studio for a 4 - 5 song demo of some of the same tracks, to let you hear what they are really supposed to sound like. Your feedback is welcome and encouraged. Let us know what you think. It just may speed the process.

As always, music is created for the fans and listeners. Constructive criticism is helpful. Why don't you assist in the coming year by sending out a line?

See you at open jam!!

Ho! Ho! Ho!

Look what the phat man brought in! Just in time for Chistmas, RockSolidMusic presents: Dave Daniels Live in the Tunnel '09. This is where he has been living for the last year or so. He thought since he can't get you his new tunes polished up just yet that he'd share his new music where it has been played acoustically in the City Centre Pedway/Churchill LRT station, and just in time for Christmas! Make some popcorn, gather the family, start a nice warm fire, and bust out your laptop cause this is where the fire is really cooking!! Hope you all enjoy. Merry Christmas from RockSolidMusic.

And have a Happy New Year!!

Live in the Tunnel '09

Nov. 26, 2009

RSM is looking to take on a few more students as Christmas approaches. If you're interested in learning to play guitar, contact Dave today. The introductory offer still stands - The first lesson is free. A 30 minute introduction to your teacher and your instrument. From there the standard rate of $30 per hour applies. Or you could cash in on the commitment, 4 lessons for $100.

Christmas is fast approaching. You will find me at the City Centre later than 6PM on Friday's. Also possibly at Central station on the odd Tuesday. I have heard I am sounding better than ever, come check it out.

I am again seeking the right situation to get recording all the tracks for RSMV.3. The work was begun, and the material is all but ready. But the studio is still in question. I no longer have the digital recorder I was using (for the past year or so). Therefore the recording process has slowed some. Once I find the right situation I will dive right in. Hang tight, good things are worth the wait.

Finally, I still don't see your name on my networking pages... If you are on one, there are others. Check them out. You just may learn something about me you don't know. Plus you get the satisfaction of knowing just what I've been up to (on most days...).

Have a festive holiday season. Do something generous. Remember, the gift of giving is always the best reward.

Aug. 8, 2009

Unfortunately, the songs which I had wished to complete last year must still be delayed. Since then I have been working on some new material. I have in total another 6 - 8 songs ready to record, which is almost enough for another album. I am yet to commit to such a task. I want to take the time to ensure this project is done properly. Stay tuned on that, please.

The Fringe will be a go whether I am taking part in it or not. There are lots of entertaining acts. Come check out the line up just off Whyte ave. between Aug 13 - 23. All street performances are by donation meaning if you don't want you don't have to pay!! So no excuses!!

Are you interested in joining any of my networking pages? I believe I may have given the wrong addresses earlier. You can find me at these locations:

Sign up, login, and network away. You'd be surprised how easy it is. Just don't give them too much personal info, or you'll end up like me... Worried about someone impersonating you and stealing your identity all at the same time. Then again, if life were easy, where would be the fun in that?

See you at the Fringe!!

June 22, 2009

Not a lot happening right now. Everything I spend money on seems to cost more than it is making me. So in turn, it is better economically for me right now to do nothing than to do anything. I will be back, and I will finish those songs. It is still my goal to form a band and play shows. Want to see some progress? Try contributing to the cause. Money's tight out there right now, and the music industry is not exempt from that. RockSolidMusic is not finished. But we are on hiatus, to regroup, make some changes, and change the image. If you see an opportunity to help, I would ask that you do so. It may just speed up the rate of change. Keep rocking. That is our intention...

May 21, 2009

Old news is good news I guess. Nothing has really changed in the last couple of months. Things appear to be working against me, which has added to my spiritual crisis. I have been forced to live by faith and not by site. Add to my woes the fact that I swear the entire computer industry is working against me and that equals a recipe for disaster. On the bright side I have been getting a little better with them (computers), but so have the programmers so I am not any further ahead. Oh well the learning curve.

I have given Acoustic Music another chance to fix my guitar. It has taken a beating in the last year or so. I took the opportunity to bust out my Gibson again the other day (it was over a month!! I was frustrated after realizing I wasn't going to repair it). I am happy to say I can still play. The desire to record is again burning. Alas I must fix the acoustic first and then get the drum kit fixed as vowed. After that I will look again into the recording. And then the putting of it onto the elusive computer. I just hope by then the issues are resolved and trust has been restored. I am sorry to those who are waiting. I would request you purchase some of what is already available and that may speed the process some.

Finally, I still feel some of you should be on my networking sites. Come on down and send a message, post a comment, generally stir up some s%$#. I want you too. So do it!!!

Apr. 15, 2009

With the warming weather anything goes in the next month or two busking wise. I have been playing Tues. at Central 2 - 6PM still on occasion. But once the weather is nice I will be moving outside again. Possibly at Whyte avenue, maybe downtown. Times and music being played are all up to the mercies of the winds. I also have begun production on creating ring tones and an online merch store (yes I do want to sell merch) to make all these sales possible. I am still learning as I go so be patient. Also if you are interested in purchasing any of the described products please don't hesitate to let us know, it may even speed the process. I haven't been working on the new tracks as promised before in the last month. But I do vow to make an effort in the coming one. I want those tracks finished before the summer is here!!

On the negative side the recession has been putting a dent into profits which has slowed my new equipment purchases. Last year I wore out my Les Paul. It needs refretting, and I had planned on doing so; but it is nearing vintage in age (1981) and it is recommended once your equipment gets that age not to alter it unless you are willing to forgo the value. If I were to spend that money I would be better off getting a new one; but that is not in the budget right now. To finish those tracks I am left with fixing up my drum kit which has been neglected and then pounded on alternatively for the last few years. I will have to put some money into it to finish the tracks unless I want to go the electric drum route (which I never have in the past so...) And finally I have been considering removing the concept pages from the web site entirely. Does this concern you? Let me know!! Otherwise, due to knowledge I have learned I believe I am not accurate in writing what I have been. I am not an expert and do not want to teach others false doctrines. Basically what I'm trying to say, is that "I am confused right now. And wouldn't be able to answer any of your questions properly. So out of love and respect for our Lord and Savior it would be best if I did not preach." But thank you to those who have gone for the ride. Surely you've realized by now it is a life long battle and one that we all must face alone in the end. Good luck and God bless to all of you!!!

Still trying to network with Dave and not sure what to do? With all networking sites you should be able to find me by searching for my email address: davedaniels@rocksolidmusic.ca

I am on Myspace, Facebook, and now try signing up with Twitter and following me:

The new tracks have been delayed some in production. I hope to have them complete before the beginning of summer. For now equipment/money/supplier issues have been prevalent. I did not like the recorder I was using and have only found one store where they're available for rent. I have not been pleased with the service I've been receiving lately. Problems with repairs, rentals not working right, plus I cannot find the recorder I used to use it's been discontinued. I am taking all measures to ensure professionalism is being taken care of and am still trying to treat others as I'd like to be treated; but frankly I'd like out of Edmonton. The last month I have also started a couple new web pages in hopes of expanding my networking. Are you interested in signing up? Sign up and log into the following new web pages to see what's new:

Feb. 25, 2009

RockSolidMusic has signed up and will be taking part in Earth Hour again this March 28. You should do the same if conserving energy and keeping our environment clean are goals of yours. For more info check this link:
http://wwf.ca/earthhour/

Dave will also be cleaning up the city streets again this year with Capital City Cleanup. Last year one individual thought I was doing community service. "No" I responded. "I am a volunteer with the city. Trying to keep your streets clean". In a perfect world people would simply use the trash can instead of littering; but we are not living in a perfect world are we? Get more info on helping out in Edmonton here:

Feb. 19, 2009

Work has commenced again on the tracks that were meant for RSMV.2 and didn't make the cut. For now the work is being done on a rented digital recorder. But it is hoped that a collaboration can still be made with Failsafe Studio's. Also in the last couple of months RockSolidMusic has taken a liking to another Canadian artist. She makes nostalgic, feel good, make you happy music. She is talented, beautiful, and she's good for you. She is LIGHTS. Check out her stuff via this link: http://www.iamlights.com/user

Starting in March Dave is no longer playing Central LRT station Tues. Instead you can find him Sat. at City Centre Pedway/Churchill LRT Station 10AM - 2PM or later depending on the circumstances. He is still playing there Friday afternoon/evening as well.

Feb. 2, 2009

RockSolidMusic is now taking part in Sonicbids.

Dec. 28, 2008

RockSolidMusic wants your feedback. What do you think will make the web site more entertaining? Have you seen the new store? Have you watched the video's yet? Dave is working on forming his best band yet. And once playing shows it is our goal to play Capital Ex. next year. Is this something you would come out and watch? Send us an email. We cannot please you if you don't tell us what you want. The Christmas Promotion is almost at its close. For those who have signed up, thanks and KEEP PRACTICING!!! For those needing more info click onto Services at the top of the page and then scroll down. Stay tuned next year for more tracks to hit the store. Failsafe Studios is busy through Feb. but Dave intends on finishing those songs next year no later than summer. Just in time to play those festivals once again, whether on the stage or not. Thanks for listening!! And have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!! From Dave Daniels/RockSolidMusic.

At long last the video's from this years Fringe Festival have been uploaded. You may watch them now in the video section of the web site. Depending on the speed of your PC, one may need to allow the files to buffer for a few minutes before the actual viewing is available. The downloads are not set up as of yet, but we will notify you as soon as they are available, as with the enhanced version of the store. Stay tuned!!!

Oct. 19, 2008

Christmas Promotion '08: If you received a post card in the mail saying, "This voucher is redeemable for a free 30 minute guitar lesson." It is just that, contact Dave Daniels to book your time today!!! For more details click on Services at the top of the page and scroll down to the applicable area.

The store is finally up and running. Although there have been some bugs. If you experience any technical trouble while downloading your copy of RockSolidMusicVol.1 or 2, do not fear. There is still another way of acquiring your tracks. Ensure you leave the window open while downloading the full CD's. That way if there is any trouble all you need do is try reloading the page and it should work. Firefox is recommended for downloading. If the music does not play on Firefox, try Internet Explorer. Thank you for your patience.

There have been no stage shows as of yet, still experiencing some equipment troubles. Everything should be worked out soon. With the change in weather I took in a change of scenery by heading into the LRT tunnels for the winter. It is my goal to play in the new Southgate Station once it opens. For now you can catch me at either Central Station Tuesdays 2PM and on, or Churchill Station (in the City Centre Pedway) Fridays, also after 2PM. Whether I'm there or not, just like what I am playing is all up to the winds of change...

I recently joined SOCAN for hopes of earning some royalties if I ever get my music onto the radio. I do not consider myself mainstream listening; but that doesn't mean you will not hear me someday on an eclectic style of station. Call your favorite station today and recommend your favorite song!!! Thanks for listening!!!! Dave Daniels/RSM

July 28, 2008

Still searching for the right people to take over the computer area of things. I am finding like most other businesses a labour shortage and rising costs. I have taken to the streets again to busk Edmontonians ears off. I find most people are liking my new songs, both covers and originals. I joined the Songwriter's Association of Canada on April 23, with hopes of expanding my options to take once getting the web site fixed. Still looking for the right people to form a heavy sounding band. I have recorded some guitar tracks which should have been on RockSolidMusicVol.2 with Failsafe Studios also based here in Edmonton. I can assure you once things are rolling both musically and graphically that the (store checkout) coming for the site will be worth your checking out. Downloads of the CD's will be available making the purchases more convenient not to mention cheaper. I am still hoping to do a real show before Christmas, financing is somewhat of a concern. Any one interested in contributing to the cause, all you need to do is contact me and explain how you would like to help. I will take it from there. After all in this society one must give a little to get a little. Peace out. Dave D.

April 9, 2008

RockSolidMusic is happy to announce taking part in Edmonton's Capital City Cleanup. I will be starting next Monday putting in at least an hour or two each week to help get my block back into shape, picking up litter and the like. I also shut down the power on March 29 to help take part in Earth Hour. RockSolidMusic is a green business. It is my intention to live in a greener future (providing society smartens up), where people care about their surroundings. All you can do is your part, and I intend on doing just that!

Keep on rocking!! I know I will!!
